This might be some of my favorite work. I did this show straight off the 50/50 Show at the Sanchez Art Center. I was excited to work in greater depth with this theme yet with a bit more depth than I dared do for the previous show due to time constraints. The color pallet was so different from some of my previous work and I like that–my husband calls it My Quiet Period. All work is done on 3/8″ painted cabinet grade birch plywood. The sides and top are carefully sanded between the layers of paint to give it a very smooth finish, not unlike the fine papers I chose. The paper is coated with a mat finish varnish.
